Arrive at Oslo Airport and make your own way to the hotel. Oslo is the capital of Norway, situated at the end of the Oslo fjord. It is the largest city in Norway and offers closeness to nature that few other capitals can match.

Today you will be at leisure to personally explore and perhaps get some shopping done in the capital of Norway. It is suggested that one takes a walk down “Karl Johan”, Oslo’s main street, or perhaps strolls along the Aker Brygge with its numerous shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Other sights of interest you may wish to dedicate some time to are Akershus Fortress, the national art gallery and the Munch museum.

Oslo - Flam railway - Balestrand
This morning make your way to the train station in order to take the train to Myrdal. After the train has crossed the rugged Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau, you will have to change trains in Myrdal over to the famous Flåm Railway. This railway has been ranked one of the top 20 train rides in the world and is the world’s steepest railway line on normal gauge. The scenic ride ends in Flåm, beautifully situated at the end of the Aurlandsfjord. The Norwegian fjord landscape is considered to be one of the most spectacular sceneries in the world. At Flåm you will catch a ferry on the spectacular Sognefjord, the world’s longest and deepest fjord, which will take you to Balestrand where you should arrive in the afternoon.

This morning make your way to the train station in order to start your journey to Myrdal. After you have crossed the rugged Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau, you will arrive in Myrdal and change trains over to the famous Flåm Railway. This railway has been ranked one of the top 20 train rides in the world and is the world’s steepest railway line on normal gauge. After this scenic delight you will arrive in Flåm, beautifully situated at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, where you will have the rest of the day leisure.

Balestrand - Bergen
Most of the day today will be spent on the fjord ferry which will take you from Balestrand to Bergen. You should arrive in Bergen in the afternoon and will then have the rest of the day at leisure.

Today you will be entirely at leisure to explore Bergen. Is is recommend that you take a ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien, offering spectacular views on clear days. There are also several optional tours available or you may decide to could simply explore Bergen on foot, stopping at Håkons Hall and the famous “Bryggen” – the fish market.
