Welcome to Hong Kong. Upon arrival at Hong Kong International airport, transfer to your centrally located Kowloon hotel. This evening join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception with appetisers.

Hong Kong sightseeing
This morning's city tour with a Local Specialist includes a thrilling tram ride on one of the world's oldest funicular railways up to Victoria Peak, for breathtaking views over the city and the harbour. Take a sampan boat ride around Aberdeen Harbour and see the fishermen who live and work on their boats. Enjoy a Dim Sum Regional Meal onboard the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant. Marvel at the treasures in a gem factory before taking in the sights of picturesque Repulse Bay. Continue to Stanley Market to explore the warren of lanes and its vast assortment of market stalls.

Hong Kong - Cheung Chau Island
Today experience the other side of Hong Kong with a Local Specialist, as they take you on a ferry ride through the vibrant harbour over to Cheung Chau Island. You'll feel as if you have stepped back in time as you arrive on this peaceful car-free island. It is totally pedestrianised and apart from a few small police and emergency vehicles, the locals rely entirely on bicycles to get around the island. Many people commute daily to Hong Kong Island and Kowloon for work and children take the ferry across every day to get to and from school. Take a leisurely walking tour of the island along the coastline and through the many narrow lanes packed with quaint little shops and roadside stalls. See the island's working fishing fleet, beautiful sandy beaches and the intriguing Cheung Po Tsai Cave. It was believed to have been one of several hiding spots for notorious local pirate Cheung Po Tsai, who at the height of his power had a fleet of more than 270 ships. Enjoy a seafood Regional Meal at a local restaurant before visiting Pak Tai Temple with its' gold-plated woodcraft dating from the Qing and Song Dynasties. Later return by ferry back to Hong Kong Island and transfer to your Kowloon hotel.

This morning is yours to explore Hong Kong as you wish, do some last minute shopping or simply have a relaxing morning. Later transfer to the airport for your flight to Guilin. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Guilin- Li River
Enjoy a scenic cruise with a Local Specialist along the Li River to the ancient city of Yangshuo. Cruise along the river taking in the breathtaking scenery; the stunning limestone peaks and the ever-changing rock formations. As you flow down the river, see the interesting sites littered along the bank as you pass lush rice paddies, fishermen on bamboo rafts and water buffalo. In Yangshuo, stroll through the colourful bustling markets and local street vendors. A town famous for its mystical peaks, rivers, caves and temples as well as its laid-back cafes and bars. Content from a full day of outstanding sights, relax on the journey back to Guilin.

Beijing sightseeing
Explore the vibrant historical sites of Beijing today starting with Tiananmen Square, named after its Gate of Heavenly Peace. It is home to the National Museum of China, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the Great Monument to the People's Heroes. Pass through the south gate to the Forbidden City, the largest palace complex in the world and China's best-preserved collection of ancient buildings and a UNESCO listed site. After lunch visit the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 for the emperors' annual ceremonies of prayer to heaven. Experience a Cultural Insight during a relaxing foot massage at the Foot Reflexology Centre. This evening enjoy a succulent Peking Duck Regional Meal - one of the most celebrated dishes of Beijing.

Beijing Great Wall
Journey beyond the city to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Great Wall. This masterpiece of construction also has significant symbolic value. The stone and earthen fortifications were built originally to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups. Take your time to walk the majestic Sacred Way lined with ornate stone statues. View the remnants of the Ming Tombs where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried successively, also on the UNESCO list.

Free time - Beijing sightseeing
Spend the morning at leisure, before embarking on a unique tour by rickshaw through one of the Hutong areas of Beijing. Stop at the home of a local family for a delicious Be My Guest Farewell Lunch of traditional Chinese home cooking followed by a visit to a charming tea house, where a Local Specialist prepares and serves tea, while explaining the historic tea making ritual.
