Arrival in Chiusi where you are met by our representative who will spend a short time going over the tour with you answering any questions you may have. Transfer to your hotel in Montepulciano.Overnight: Montepulciano

Montepulciano - Montichiello - Pienza (5 hrs walking time)
From the San Biagio church, which is in the outskirts of town, take the dirt road to Montichiello, a little village immersed in the “Crete”. You can stop there for a nice lunch or just for a cappuccino (not included) before continuing to Pienza, one of the nicest Renaissance towns of Tuscany and well known for its pecorino cheese and truffle production.Overnight: Pienza (B)

Pienza - San Quirico D'Orica - Bagno Vignoni (5 hrs walking time)
Walk across a beautiful region of rolling hills today, oaks woods and nice villages. Explore the medieval town of San Quirico. Time permitting, end your day with a swim in the thermal pools in Bagno Vignoni.

Bagno Vignoni - Sant'Antimo - Montalcino(6 hrs walking time)
A strenuous walk along dry riverbeds in a rather wild setting, to the lovely Benedictine Abbey of Sant’Antimo. From there it is approx. 10km of a steep ascending trail to reach Montalcino, therefore you will transfer to the medieval town of Montalcino instead.

Montalcino - Buonconvento (4 hrs walking time)
Montalcino is the country of Brunello, one of the most famous wines of this region. Walk through the vineyards and olive trees and enter the “Crete”.

Buonconvento - Monte Oliveto Maggiore - Buonconvento(3.5 hrs walking time + optional 3 hrs walk back)
A short day but lots of uphills and downhills. The unpaved road will take you to the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore which is 273 meters above sea level. (3.5 hours walking) If you think the walk back (3 hours) from Monte Oliveto will be too much, you can arrange to be transferred to the agriturismo. Spend the afternoon resting or enjoy a swim or the sauna.

Buonconvento - Murlo - Siena (5 hrs walking time)
Walk along the winding dirt road amongst hills and oak woods to the walled city of Murlo, but make sure you have a hat as the first half your walk won’t offer much shade. You will travel for about 2km on asphalt before you reach a trail heading through woods to Murlo. It is small town of Etruscan origins with a lovely museum. Some time at leisure for lunch (not included in cost) before your transfer to Siena (transfer must have been pre-arranged the previous evening).Overnight: Siena (B)
